Thunder-Rode Motorcycle Accessories once again had a successful Togs 4 Tots Toy Drive on December 2, 2023. For six consecutive years, Thunder-Rode has hosted one of the most popular toy drives in Mohave County, Arizona benefiting the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program. Individuals and organizations from throughout the area, flock to Thunder-Rode for the annual event.

Each holiday season, Thunder-Rode Motorcycle Accessories is an official drop-off location for the Toys for Tots Program. On the first Saturday of December, Thunder-Rode hosts a special event – “Togs 4 Tots”. Togs is a term used to describe specialized clothing, such as biker gear. The goal of the event is to collect as many toys as possible for distribution to less fortunate children. Each person who donates a toy during the event receives a sealed Thunder-Rode gift voucher worth anywhere from $10-$100. Thus, Togs 4 Tots! Thunder-Rode trades biker gear for toys, a win-win.

In 2021, Terry Flanagan presented Thunder-Rode Motorcycle Accessories with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Commander’s Award for their donations to the Toys for Tots Program. The Commander’s Award is the program’s most prestigious award and is presented to businesses that go above and beyond in support of the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program. This would not be possible without the support of their local motorcycle community.

This year, Thunder-Rode would like to give special acknowledgement to “Woodman” and “Boston” of Guardians of the Children who stopped by Thunder-Rode and unloaded a large supply of toys onto the back of their truck. This kind gesture brought tears to the eyes of everyone in the shop. It was a much needed donation considering the state of the economy.

Thunder-Rode would also like to acknowledge Bart Cookus. Hearing that the children were in dire need of toys this year, Bart went the extra mile and ordered toys online to be delivered to the Thunder-Rode shop. We need more Barts in the world.

Thunder-Rode thanks all who donated toys during the Togs 4 Tots event as well as those who dropped off toys before and after the event. Because of the generosity of our local motorcycle community and our customers, Thunder-Rode was able to deliver a truck load of toys to the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program this year.

The Toys for Tots campaign delivers a message of hope. Marine Toys for Tots Foundation is an IRS recognized 501(C)(3) not-for-profit public charity and is the fund raising, funding, and support organization for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program. In 2022, Toys for Tots assisted 9,984,917 children and distributed 24,388,592 toys.
