SADDLEBAGS, SISSYBAR BAGS and MORE

11th Mar 2016

It's that time of year again to start thinking about the trips we're going to take this summer and where we're going to put all the gear that we want to bring along, whether it's for a weekend, a few days or a couple of weeks. I tow a trailer behind my big cruiser when my girlfriend and I head out and she somehow manages to fill the trailer and all but one saddlebag by time it comes my turn to park my gear somewhere on the bike!! Hopefully, you don't have that kind of problem and therefore, I think we have some great solutions.

Experience has proven that leather bags on bikes will warp, distort and turn rock-hard over time, so at Thunder-Rode, we have decided to go with all-textile bags, enabling us to sell a very high quality line of bags at very very reasonable prices and leave the leather to other merchandisers to handle and deal with the inherent problems of leather bags down the road.

SISSY BAR BAGS

Our sissy bar bags are flat-out awesome. here are a few examples of what we offer - for our complete line, go back to the main website. They are durable, waterproof, weatherproof and all have quick release clips so you don't have to fool around with un-doing buckles all the time. You will love these bags and as far as affordability is concerned, our prices range from around $79 up to $149 for our most expensive sissy bar bag system.

SADDLEBAG BRACKETS

We strongly recommend that you use stand-offs. this is a typical set of standoffs that many bikers use. Fitment for your bike will, of course, depend on make and model but these universal brackets will generally do for most bikes. They will run you anywhere from about $39 to over $100.

We, at Thunder-Rode, like these quick-release bag mounting brackets. They are solid, really well made and are bike specific. We custom order for your bike and the pricing runs from About $99 to $300.

SADDLEBAGS

The saddlebags themselves, again, terrific in quality and construction, will last you a very long time, expecially if you take care of them, keep them clean and oil them occasionally. Yes, even textile bags like to be lubricated every now and then. Here are some samples. These bags will run you from a low end of about $69 to about $129 for the pair. All of our bags come with leather lacing to secure them onto the bike, throw over straps and can be had with or without studs.

DOGGIE BAGS

And if you have doggie or two that you like to have ride with you, well.....here's an idea! Not our bags - clipped from another website but thought it worthy of note here as we are talking about bags.

WINDSHIELD & TOOL BAGS

We also offer and carry in the shop and in our Road Show trailer; windshield bags (triples or singles) and fork-mount tool bags. These run from in the mid $20s to about $39. Excellent quality, water and weather resistant. These bags easily mount on just about any bike be it a Harley, Honda, Victory, Indian or just about any make or model

We hope this information helps you in the decision-making process and look forward to seeing you in the shop or on the road at one of the many events that we attend throughout the year. Be sure to like us and follow us on Facebook.
